Things are looking different at Clemson University after Harcombe Dining Hall, the Student Union, and Johnstone Hall began demolition last week. The goal: Create more green space in the middle of campus.

In addition to the construction taking place in the heart of campus, Clemson provided updates on several other construction projects:

An entirely renovated Byrnes Hall will open for students this fall semester. It’s the first of three high-rises getting updates with renovations underway at Manning + plans to break ground on Lever next year.
The 145,000-sqft Advanced Materials Innovation Complex — which will house Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences — is expected to be complete in October 2025.
Phase I of the new Alumni and Visitor Center will create 100,000 sqft for Clemson organizations.

This interactive map shows all current construction on Clemson’s campus, including some projected completion dates, if you’re hoping to track the progress.
