Our favorite houses on the market at 5 different price ranges. 🏡
Maybe you’re on the hunt for a starter bungalow in Rosewood within walking distance to Hunter Gatherer at the hangar, or for your forever two-story craftsman in Shandon across the street from the park. If you’re like me, you’ve already bought your Columbia dream home but still wake up and check your realtor’s listing update emails every morning to fawn over the Heathwood mansions and refurbished 1910s-era Elmwood Park historic homes.

The housing market in downtown Columbia is on the rise just like our city, and now is a better time than ever to invest in a property in your favorite neighborhood if you plan to stay here awhile. And we hope you do.

Since I’m no longer on the market, I figured I’d put all my semi-wasted hours of perusing MLS listings to use. Here’s a list of my favorite Columbia homes on the market at five different price ranges – from $100-200K to $1 million+ (dream reaaaaally big, right?).

$100-200K

$129,900 | 814 S Prospect St. | Rosewood | 3BR/2BA | 984 sqft

Image via Zillow

With easy access to UofSC, Midlands Tech + Fort Jackson, this Rosewood home would be great for recent grads, a young couple and even would work as a bachelor/bachelorette pad. Why? It’s a ~5 min walk from Owens Field Park, festivals at City Roots and the new Hunter Gatherer hangar. Plus, the fully-fenced yard is perfect for a furry companion.

$154,900 | 1011 Maple St. | Old Shandon | 3BR/1BA | 1,188 sqft

Image via Zillow

With Devine St. shopping + food just a few blocks away, this cozy home will have you from your front porch to Craft and Draft in just a few short minutes. And the Wheatley branch of Richland Library is just around the corner – talk about a selling point.

$179,900 | 5 Bay Laurel Pl. | Earlewood | 3BR/2BA | 1,315 sqft

Image via Zillow

Another great starter home, this Earlewood craftsman has a spacious master bedroom with a jacuzzi tub in the master bath – perfect to set the mood to start a family. Wink, wink.

$200-300K

$265,000 | 2311 Gadsden St. | Elmwood Park | 4BR/3BA | 1,840 sqft

Image via Zillow

The curb appeal is real for this Charleston-inspired home in Elmwood. That white paint + navy blue door gives is giving me the best kind of beach vibes – perfect if you have dreams of living near the coast, but live in, well, the Midlands. And imagine the possibilities for the unfinished basement – Gamecock Football viewing room? Home gym?

$285,800 | 2900 Hope Ave. | Rosewood | 3BR/2BA | 1,600 sqft

Image via Zillow

The cutest Rosewood bungalow possibly ever to exist is literally right behind Publix (and a short walk to Barre3 + Rosewood Market). The entire home has been recently renovated – from the new A/C system, to the appliances, to the paint, to the flooring, to the light fixtures… We’re crushing hard on this one.

$298,900 | 110 S Ravenel St. | Shandon | 3 BR/2BA | 1,598 sqft

Image via Zillow

Yep, it’s an updated Shandon bungalow for under $300K. I’m loving the kitchen backsplash, in-room full private bath in the master bedroom and the backyard two-car garage. This one won’t last long, y’all.

$300-400K

$319,900 | 311 S Harden St. | Hollywood-Rosehill | 4BR/2BA | 1,967 sqft

Image via Zillow

I lived in this house as a student at UofSC, but it wasn’t quite as nice as it is now – the kitchen was completely redone after I moved out. I’m forever in love with this bungalow, so I need someone to move in and invite me over for a nostalgic dinner.

$359,000 | 3313 Kline St. | Melrose Heights | 3 BR/3BA | 1,800 sqft

Image via Zillow

This Melrose Heights stunner has been completely renovated – just look at that dreamy kitchen, honed-marble bar and subway-tiled bathrooms. Seriously, this home looks like it jumped out of HGTV and planted itself on Kline St.

$379,900 | 1602 Tanglewood Rd. | 4BR/3BA | 2,250 sqft

Image via Zillow

The light fixtures in this home immediately jumped out at me. So on-trend. You’ve also got the best of both worlds with this home – a house for you and a house for your guests (read: in-laws). Plus, the kitchen opens up to a brick patio + landscaped backyard – need I say more?

$400-600K

$425,000 | 2610 Blossom St. | Shandon | 3 BR/4BA | 2,176 sqft

Image via Zillow

A wine cellar, fireplace, outdoor brick oven and updated kitchen off Blossom St. – where do I sign?

$436,825 | 4211 Devine St. | Heathwood | 4BR/3BA | 2,479 sqft

Image via Zillow

For all you new construction lovers out there, you can find it downtown in Heathwood just around the corner from Cross Hill Market. Mungo Homes’ luxury line Sovereign Homes has built a new mini-subdivision called Idlewood off Devine St. This beauty features a two-car garage, a massive island in the pristine kitchen, a back deck and a master suite with a walk-in closet + walk-in shower.

$559,900 | 2602 Blossom St. | Shandon | 4BR/2BR | 3,104 sqft

Image via Zillow

This is the perfect home to raise a family in Shandon with a front porch swing looking over Emily Douglas Park (located right across the street). The backyard even has a mini-basketball court. I especially love that bit of exposed brick peeking into the perfect kitchen.

$1 million+

$1,050,000 | 7 Heathwood Cir. | Heathwood | 5BR/4BA | 4,154 sqft

Image via Zillow

This home offers a covered dining terrace + pergola, opening to a bluestone patio for those perfect summer nights you want to enjoy your meal outdoors – not to mention the bright eat-in kitchen (complete with its own fireplace) to make those meals in.

$1,599,000 | 121 Saluda Ave. | Saluda Avenue | 5BR/7BA | 7,452 sqft

Image via Zillow

This mega-home has just about everything you could ask for + more (i.e. a hidden “man cave”, gym, music room and even an outdoor kitchen). And a closet straight outta yo’ dreams.

$1,895,000 | 117 Newport Hall Ln. | King’s Grant | 6 BR/10BA | 8,913 sqft

Image via Zillow

Woah. This estate is nearly 9,000 sqft and completely regal. And the outdoor space is probably the best backyard I’ve seen ever. That pool. That hanging daybed. That entertainment center.

As you can see, you can actually get a banging home for any buck in Columbia. Let’s all buy our dream homes here and never, ever leave – sound like a plan?
