Local breast cancer survivor Adrienne Wright said it best: “In 2018, everybody knows somebody, if it’s a neighbor or a coworker, who has had breast cancer.”

That’s why Palmetto Health Foundation’s 28th annual Walk for Life and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5K + 10K, presented by Nephron Pharmaceuticals, is more relevant than ever.

Proceeds from the annual event – happening this year on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Spirit Communications Park in The BullStreet Neighborhood – go directly to Palmetto Health Breast Center; the dollars staying local to help local patients.

October’s event will fund an Upright Stereotactic Breast Biopsy room with 3D mammography technology at Palmetto Health Breast Center at Richland, plus educational materials, breast bears + post-mastectomy camisoles for patients. Last year, funds provided an additional 3D mammography unit for the Center.

Mammography technology is something that helped save Wright’s life. Read her full survivor story here.
