Today is National Nurses Day and honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time this year. While many of us are choosing to stay home to limit contact with others, healthcare professionals are risking their own well-being and still treating patients.

We can’t begin to imagine the stress and hard work they go through + put in each day and there’s no way we alone could properly thank them. ❤️ So, in an effort to show some love to the nurses and doctors in our community, we asked y’all to give shout outs to nurses you know.

Check out the praises our readers gave. 👇

“Megan J., you are so brave and confident! You were made for this. So glad to have you around” – Anonymous

“Shout out to all the beautiful and fearless nurses in the MICU at Prisma Richland! Y’all are my inspiration to keep going in all this craziness.” – Anonymous

“Shout out to Shae at the Prisma ER downtown! I was absolutely terrified and she was informative, patient, and so kind!” – Amanda S.

“Kudos to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital 4th floor nurses and techs. Within the last month, the floor (patients and employees) was relocated to the 3rd floor. Not only was there all of the changes outside of the hospital, there were major changes to the only normal we had left, but we packed up, adapted and we have done the best that we can. Hopefully we will be going back home to the 4th floor as soon, but in the meantime, here’s a SHOUT OUT TO THE GIRLS ON CH4!!!!!” – Greta C.

“Caelie Kerns is a STICU nurse and she is a BEAST at her job. She started her nursing career in the midst of this pandemic and is being so sacrificial. She is so loved by so many” – Rachael W.

“Liz McMicken! She’s the best!!! 🧡” – Katie F.

“She is a parish nurse. An amazing help to so many in our church and community. Visiting in homes, caring for all walks of life, with dignity and professionalism. I’m so grateful to her. She is Anita Boland.” – Carol K.

“Carolyn Reed is our nurse at the Lourie Center, visiting two mornings per month for blood pressure checks and drop-in consultations, free for all senior citizens in the community. She is so kind and smart and we are so lucky to have her as our nurse! Thanks to our program partners Prisma Health Hospital for their support.” – Stephanie B.

“Dr. Patrick Hickey embodies the love and knowledge of the nursing profession through service, teaching, and mentorship!” – Anonymous

“The NICU nurses at Prisma Health Richland. Keeping our littlest (& cutest) patients safe & healthy!” – Carlee S.
