9 egg-ceptional deviled eggs in Cola

A couple weeks ago I went on a self-made deviled egg tour through Columbia. (And Chloe + Beth made fun of me because they just don’t understand the love.) I actually consider myself a deviled egg connoisseur, because I’ve been obsessing over them since I was a child – and they’re everyone’s go-to when the vegetarian (a.k.a. me) gets invited to the cookout.

But I found 9 restaurants that know eggs-actly what they’re doing when it comes to deviled eggs, and trust me – they’re literally all to die for.

The Oak Table | pickled eggs with traditional filling | 3 halves for $6 | 1221 Main St.

1801 Grille | crawfish, green onions + cajun spices | 6 halves for $7 | 700 Lincoln St.

Tallulah | 3 halves for $5 | 240 Devine St. | Pro tip: Snacks half-priced during Happy Hour (Tuesday-Friday, 4-6:30 p.m.)

Gourmet Shop | 2 halves for $2 | 724 Saluda Ave.

The Root Cellar | bacon, green onions + paprika | 4 halves for $5 | 420 Columbia Ave., Lexington

The War Mouth | 2 halves for $2 | 1209 Franklin St.

Yesterday’s | Duke’s mayo + pickles | 6 halves for $5.79 | 2030 Devine St.

Top Dawg Tavern | spicy Sriracha kick | 6 halves for $7 | 498 Towncenter Pl.

Spotted Salamander | selection changes daily (but you’ll see recipes likes country ham jam with Adluh cornbread + chicken chicharron with Crystal hot sauce) | 4 halves for $5 | 1531 Richland St.

Seriously, y’all. All these deviled eggs are out of this world, and they’re all eggs-tremely different. Make sure you eggs-ercise your right to eat all of them.

Sorry I’m not sorry for all the egg puns – they just crack me up. 🤣
