They say that there’s a time + place for everything, and the same applies for dating in Columbia. Check out this round-up to find the perfect plans, whether you’ve been together for 5 months or 5 years.

If you’re meeting for the first time…
Make plans to go to local Oktoberfest, at Steel Hands, Savage Craft, or Columbia Craft. If you’re looking for something more active, go bowling at The Grand and then head downstairs to their underground dessert lounge.

If you’re looking for an afternoon escape…
Grab brunch at Market on Main, explore fall foliage on the State House grounds + then head to Trenholm Plaza for some shopping.

If you’ve been dating for a while…
Channel your competitive sides at a trivia night, hosted by a spot like Main Course or Angry Fish Brewing. If you + your partner prefer something more adventurous, try your hand at axe throwing and end the night with games at Transmission Arcade (they’re open till 2 a.m. Mon.-Sat.).

If you’re looking for some family-friendly fun...
Get the whole family together for a day at Riverbanks Zoo (Pro tip — Boo at the Zoo will run from Oct. 20-30). Or, stroll through a Saturday local market, like Soda City, West Columbia, or Icehouse Amphitheater.

If you’re hiring a babysitter…
Find your creative side + DIY your own seasonal decoration with a date night at AR Workshop. After you get crafty, head to Hendrix for some rooftop cocktails and views of the city.
