Hey, Cola. Kayla here. As someone who just went through the process of buying a car, I can honestly say: It’s a whole thing.

If you’re currently in the market for new wheels, or think you might be soon, check out these helpful tips from AllSouth:

Know what you can afford. Set a budget that works for you, making sure to factor in the cost of maintenance, insurance, gas + repairs.
Do your research. Take your time so you can find what’s right for you.
Determine “wants” vs. “needs.” Like, I wanted heated seats, but I *needed* a sunroof.

Find the right dealership. This locator can help.

Take a test drive. Pro-tip: Try to take your test drive in conditions similar to your morning routine to really get a feel for whether this car is a good fit.

Focus on the purchase price. Stick to negotiating the total purchase price, rather than revealing what you can pay each month.

Secure financing. Having this lined up before going to the dealership can benefit you – AllSouth has options.
Enjoy the process. Look at you, #adulting.
