After last week’s ribbon cutting, the City of North Charleston is ready to debut its new sports complex.

The North Charleston Sports Complex at 1455 Monitor St., is now officially open in its entirety beginning today, April 1, after certain outdoor facilities opened last Friday.

The $25 million sports complex replaced the former Danny Jones Recreation Center and has many features and amenities.

Highlights of the complex:

25-meter competitive pool to complement the North Charleston Aquatic Center in Dorchester County
Multi-use gymnasium for basketball, volleyball + badminton
Five tennis courts that meet the United States Tennis Association standards
A roller rink for street hockey and roller skating
Multi-purpose field
A walking trail
