Did you know? The International African American Museum is located directly on the site of Gadsden’s Wharf in historic downtown Charleston. That's where an estimated 40% of African captives entered the country, setting foot on American soil.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the African Ancestors Memorial Garden — a beautiful nod to that history. Inside, the exhibits weave a dynamic tapestry of the global African American experience.

If you’re looking to dive deeper into the museum experience, becoming an annual member comes with an array of perks, such as:

Unlimited general admission for one year
Free or reduced admission to select programs
Access to member-only events + giveaways
15% discount in the museum shop and on additional admission tickets

Bonus: All March long, snag 10% off annual memberships and jump right into member giveaways (think: prizes like experiences and restaurant gift cards).
