Book lovers get this: the Mills House Charleston is now the official book club host for the local bookstore Buxton Books.

The first kick-off event is Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. and will begin at Buxton Books (160 King St.) and host New York Times best-selling author Sadeqa Johnson to celebrate the paperback release of "The House of Eve."

Local author Mary Alice Monroe will join Johnson, and after the program, ticket holders are invited to The Black Door Café in the Mills House for a book club discussion on "The House of Eve." Make sure you've read the book because spoilers will be the topic of conversation. Plus, wine, cocktails, coffee, and snacks will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $19, including a signed, paperback copy of "The House of Eve."
