A bright spot in these difficult times has been witnessing this community showing its support in any way possible: to small businesses, to local charities and to each other. We couldn’t be more proud to live in CHS.

Here’s another major way you can help, now and in the coming weeks + months: Consider donating with The Blood Connection to help our local hospitals maintain an adequate blood supply.

The need is real. As of March 1, TBC is 25 days short on blood supply inventory. Avoiding blood shortages in the community is critical, as local hospitals, like Roper St. Francis Healthcare, depend on donations to treat patients. Thanks to proper planning + the community’s response so far, the current blood supply is adequate to supply local hospitals. This needs to continue throughout the duration of this COVID-19 crisis to avoid a blood shortage in the future. By donating to TBC this week, next week, next month + beyond, you can help save local lives.

In addition to ensuring all donors are healthy through wellness screenings, TBC has taken extra precautionary measures during COVID-19 to ensure all donor + mobile centers are clean.

Here’s how you can donate:

Make an appointment online to visit TBC’s new North Charleston donation center located at 5870 Core Rd. While drop-ins are typically welcome, making an appointment in advance helps maintain social distancing.
Find your closest mobile blood drive + donate at a convenient location for you. There are 10+ mobile drives happening across the Lowcountry just this week.
