Take a trip with us ~4 miles east of the city, to the 2.44 sq mile city of Bexley. Here’s how to spend the day there, whether you have $10 or $100 to spend.

$10 budget

Grab a house-made breakfast pastry from Bexley Coffee Shop to start. The coffee cake and the cinnamon rolls (available on Saturdays only) are $3.75.

Then, get ready to walk — but that’s sort of the point in Bexley. The city is an accredited arboretum, meaning you can spot 130+ species of trees (and ~14,000 trees total) on the street. Soak in all that nature for exactly $0.

Steer your walk towards the Capital University campus. Bring a book + sit by the fountains for a shady reading sesh. Need a book? Stop by Bexley Public Library on your way — library cards are free and valid for five years.

Finish your day with a scoop of Graeter's Ice Cream. Trust us, it’s worth your dough + is even Oprah approved. Grab two scoops for $5.50. Pro tip: Get the Black Raspberry Chip.

$100 budget

Start your day with movement at Be Well Studio. Take anything from yoga flow to a barre class for a $20 drop-in price.

Then, refuel Jewish deli-style at Block’s Bagels Bexley. Get a Lox Sandwich “All the Way” — a bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers, tomato, and onion — for $8.99, and a large coffee for $2.25.

Head to The Drexel Theatre for entertainment. The premier arts cinema opened in 1937 + screens independent films and blockbusters alike. Catch a movie for $9 admission.

For dinner, get Italian at Giuseppe's Ritrovo. Try the grilled octopus followed by the Gamberi Diavola — spaghetti with sautéed shrimp, garlic, capers, and kalamata olives in a lightly spicy tomato sauce. Pair it with a cocktail for ~$57.
