Get ready to dig through some dollar bins + milk crates because we’re here to set the record straight on five local record stores in CBUS you have to check out.

Spoonful Records, 183 E. Rich St.

Located downtown near Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace, this record store packs a wide variety of genres into its space. Find local acts here including CAAMP or Twenty One Pilots; classic rock albums from Tom Petty; and a variety of showtunes, country classics, and hip-hop hits.

Magnolia Thunderpussy, 1155 N. High St.

This Short North spot is your quintessential record store — a tightly-packed area with aisles of boxes full of vinyls. For those who love deep cuts + hidden gems, check out the extensive selection of dollar bins where anyone from Frank Sinatra to Frank Ocean can be found.

Used Kids Records, 2500 Summit St.

If you are a fan of rock or metal, clear your schedule before heading into this spot near Evolved Body Art. Used Kids offers a wall-to-wall hunting experience — with the middle section being dedicated to its massive rock collection.

Lost Weekend Records, 2960 N. High St.

What started as just a weekend adventure (get the name now?) in 2003 blossomed into a 19 year operation offering the Clintonville community vinyl records. Not only does Lost Weekends offer golden country albums from artists like Marty Robbins + Willie Nelson, it has free parking in the front.

Elizabeth’s Records, 3037 Indianola Ave.

Not interested in newer music? That’s ok — this record store sells used records that span world + international music, jazz, soul, and even comedy albums. And if you want to add to their collection or trim yours down, Elizabeth’s Records buys old vinyls (just check out their guide before hauling your box over).
