A Moravian star will once again glow atop Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's North Tower this holiday season. It's been assembled — now the public will help light it on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 5:45 p.m. These 'star'tistics are pretty stellar:

The star measures 31 ft tall
It has 27 points
Points range from 7 to 11 ft long and weigh 30 to 65 pounds each
Each point is illuminated by a 100-watt bulb

The public can attend the 31st annual lighting ceremony on the top level of the Eden Terrace parking deck (off Hawthorne Rd.). The Medical Center Chorale + Moravian band will perform, hot apple cider and Moravian cookies will be served, and a brief worship service will be held. It's free and no registration is required.

The ceremony will also be streamed online. If it rains on Tuesday, the event will be held Friday, Dec. 8 instead.
