Today's the day, friends. Though we feel a void in the wake of Sir Walter Wally's retirement last year, we're excited for Garner's beloved furry weather expert Snerd to pop out of his hole and give his official prediction this Groundhog Day.

From 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., meet in Garner's White Deer Park — only ~20 minutes outside of downtown Raleigh — for a Groundhog Day Celebration featuring Snerd, NC's official weather-predicting groundhog who has a track record of seeing his shadow (six out of nine years).

Remember: Legend has it that if the groundhog sees its shadow, six more weeks of winter lie ahead. If not, an early spring is expected. Let's hope for the latter.

Snerd will make his prediction at 12 p.m. sharp, but show up early to see live animals, visit educational booths, meet Smokey Bear, and enjoy storytime on the stage.

Tell us your prediction.
