Olive to see you smile at our picnic. If you’re planning a picnic in one of our picturesque parks, please peruse no further. We put together a list of items to help you pack the perfect Charlotte-sourced picnic.

Sourdough bread | Verdant Bread
The baguette, made with freshly + locally milled flour, would be the perfect base for a sandwich or to simply munch on.

Cheese | Orrman's Cheese Shop
Get farmstead and artisanal cheeses sourced from around the region. You can even pick up a charcuterie board or other accompaniments while you're at it.

Meats | The Butcher's Market
Since 2010, this shop has been providing the city with premium cuts + fresh seafood. Pro tip: You can also pick up beer, wine, and other groceries.

Fruit | Charlotte farmers’ markets
Filled to the brim with fresh, seasonal fruit, you can also pick up local cheese, dairy products, and fresh flowers at one of these local markets.

Snacks | Bear Food
Do you prefer sweet, savory, or both? Luckily, with this spot in nearby Matthews, you can have it all — even pickled. Bonus: Supporting Bear Food also supports Rainbow Express Ministries, an organization dedicated to empowering young adults of all abilities.

Juice | Green Brothers Juice & Smoothie Co.
If you want something tasty to sip on that’s non-alcoholic, grab a freshly-pressed juice — the Recover Me sounds like a picnic in a bottle.

Games | Your Local Game Store
After you’ve finished dining, you’ll want something fun to do. Rent a game from this store's library to play with your friends.

Crafts | Upcycle Arts
If arts + crafts are more your speed, pick up some supplies at Charlotte's first creative reuse center before getting inspired by the outdoors.

If you read this list and are thinking, “I want to go on a picnic right now, but I don’t have a picnic basket,” we thought of that too. Although something from Amazon isn’t exactly local, we couldn’t resist how cute this picnic kit was.
