It’s the end of an era in SouthPark. Harper’s Restaurant is closing on Saturday, July 20. The property has been acquired by a bank, leading the property owners to soon demolish the building at 6518 Fairview Rd.

“Along with our team of dedicated and hospitable associates who work with us today and have over the last 37 years in Charlotte, we first and foremost say thank you. We wish we could say this is our decision, but it simply is not," said Tom Sasser, owner of Burke Hospitality Group. "We are working on a new location for a new iteration of Harper’s, and hope we will be able to share more information soon.”

Editor's note: This city editor is a regular Harper's customer, so this is a tough story to report. I've had great memories here with family and friends. The staff are incredible people and I wish them all the best when this chapter closes.
