Job announcements in the Queen City are at a record pace, according to Mecklenburg County — and two new announcements just joined the lineup.

Global shipping giant Maersk announced it is bringing its headquarters to South Charlotte, creating 520 jobs and investing $16 million into the city by 2027.

The Denmark-based company has operated in Ayrsley since 2006, but it will now designate that campus as its North American headquarters, with plans to grow its local workforce to 1,300+ employees. The expansion includes roles in finance, tech, and HR, with average salaries over $100,000.

Over the past 12 months, Scout Motors, Pacific Life Insurance Co., and SoFi Technologies have been on track to create ~4,100 new jobs and invest $438 million in the city.
