Editor Maria here. I was scrolling Instagram when I came across a golf accessory with millions of views. Then I realized it was created by a couple in Myers Park.

Meet The Dangler, ParWalker's viral golf accessory — a cupholder designed for golfers who walk the course — created by Trent and Grace Bailey.

"I'll never forget, I was on the second hole at Myers Park [Country Club], and I had a Juicy Jay," Bailey told me. "I remember I put it down in the rough and it tipped over. Other times I'd be excited about my shot, I'd grab my bag, and remember I left my drink behind. So, I came home and thought 'there's got to be a better way.'"

Bailey began experimenting with everything from stroller fans to camera gimbals before creating the first prototype of The Dangler. The couple invested thousands of dollars into the business and went through several design iterations before landing on the final product.

"I was like, 'Grace, this works!'" Bailey said. "I was running around our yard and through the house."

The Baileys partnered with Inventions Unlimited in Columbia, South Carolina (hey, COLAtoday) to refine the design into a collapsible cupholder that clips onto a golf bag and fits cans up to 16 ounces. After launching it online, a video showcasing The Dangler racked up more than 4 million views.

Since then, they've shipped orders across the United States and internationally to the United Kingdom, Canada, and Finland. One golf shop in Norway even placed an order for 75 units. Today, The Dangler sells for $40 and is available through ParWalker's website.

"It was such a validating experience, because, not only are we getting back to the origins of the game, we're also socializing and creating a walking golf brand," said Bailey.

The couple isn't stopping there. They're already working on new versions of The Dangler, including an insulated model they hope to release within the next four to six months.
