Since we opened our doors at Spherion Staffing Asheville, we have always honestly communicated the policies and procedures of our client companies to our employees. The culture and climate of an organization matter, from both the client and employee perspectives. At no time has that been truer than during the pandemic. Our job is to make sure clients are adequately staffed and that our employees are confident in the role we place them in. This approach starts in the interviewing process and continues throughout the duration of employment with us. Here are some of the top trends in employment that job seekers and employers should be aware of right now.

It is important for employers and companies to recognize the level of safety and security that employees are looking for after the interview. Clear policies and procedures on health safety within the organization are not only necessary but also expected. Employees want to work for companies that are committed to their well-being.

Whether it’s because of staffing shortages, supply chain disruption, or new product demands, manufacturers have to adapt and be flexible. Some of our client companies in the Asheville area have strategically moved employees to other departments or lines to provide extra support when there may have been staffing challenges. This ensures production is maintained and that there is consistency in employee schedules.

A common theme right now is how understaffed companies and businesses are and how much pay rates have increased. Not only in Asheville but across the country, candidates have more leverage and say in the positions they want, and also what pay rates they are willing to work for.
