Biltmore Village recently welcomed Seven Acres, a colossal coworking space and social club at the former Blue Ridge Power site just off Fairview Road, as project partners James Meder and Tony Ubertaccio set out to bridge the gap between the workplace and third place for remote workers.

The workspace opened in early June, providing dedicated workstations with standing desks and double monitors, private executive offices, and more reservable spaces for meetings + events. In the next phase, the hub will add more than monitors.

This fall, the team is on track to add a podcast recording studio, fitness studios, saunas, and outdoor green spaces for recreation. In the next year, folks can expect a cafe, bathhouse, and new community space. Once fully built out, the seven-acre campus will focus on programming member events, talks, educational classes, and screenings.

"The aim is to create an elevated yet accessible modern version of the club. A place where you could spend an entire day," said Ubertaccio, whom you may also recognize as the host of the Making It In Asheville Podcast or the food-focused web series, Bite Club. "We’re starting by operating a shared workspace that focuses on dedicated desks. But when the vision is realized, our role is programming and hospitality. We want people to feel at home."
