If your Easter prep is looking more “fashionably late” than fully hatched, don’t sweat it — we’ve rounded up some last-minute egg-cellence to fill your baskets and brunch tables with local love.

For the baskets

Whether you're shopping for the young or the young-at-heart, here's a few fillers worth their weight in chocolate:

Personalize a solid chocolate bunny or fudge egg from Laura Little's Candies or grab a cookie decorating kit from Bloom Baking Co.
Balance the sugar rush with a storybook from one of KC’s indie kid-friendly bookstores.
Hosting an egg hunt? Snag local eggs from spots like Campo Lindo Farms, or swing by one of our area farmers markets.

For the brunch table

Step away from the stovetop — these picks make holiday hosting as simple as pick-up and plate:

Dolce Bakery has you covered with mini scone boxes + lattes to-go, though we're also eyeing its stuffed lemon cheesecake rolls.
McLain’s Market is serving up Ham + Havarti sliders, while Heirloom Bakery's savory takes include cheddar chive bake-at-home biscuits.
Want a real showstopper? Try the Carrot Ice Cream cake from Frozen Custard. Trust us.

Pro tip: Most pre-orders close by midnight on Wednesday, April 16.

For the hidden stash

It's like Halloween all over again. Keep your sweets reserves going strong with the Everything Easter Chocolate Gift Box from Christopher Elbow or enjoy a few celebratory sips from KC Wine Co.'s Easter Hop-up this weekend.

Have a pastel-perfect KC tradition or hidden gem to share? Send us your tip and we might just feature your pick in an upcoming newsletter.
