Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.

If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year, check out our list of some of Newsletter Editor Maddie's favorite small businesses in town — and some extra suggestions from our followers.

May Day Paper & Post| A thoughtful card is a great way to step up your gifting game, and the dedicated wall at this Westport stationary shop won't disappoint. Plus, shop locally made goods, stickers, and all things snail mail while you’re there.

The Upper Crust | There's noting like a warm slice of strawberry rhubarb pie served up à la mode, at least in Newsletter Editor Maddie's mind.

Virgil's Plant Shop| The boutique plant paradise is throwing a party with Café Cà Phê's coffee camper, a free cocktail bar, pottery painting station + custom ornaments by Darcey Kei Calligraphy in tow. Plus, shop 20% plants — including the new Virgil's Palm Springs.

Looking for more spots for your shopping spree? Check out these small businesses our followers love:

Reminder: Shopping + supporting small isn’t limited to just this day — we love letting our local businesses shine all year long in our collection of City Guides.
