Former (ahhh!) Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is now a Miami Dolphin, according to multiple reliable NFL sources. Hill and the Chiefs couldn't agree on a contract extension, so he was allowed to seek a trade. The Dolphins immediately signed him to a four-year, $120 million extension, with $72.2 million of it guaranteed — now the highest-paid receiver in the NFL.

Apparently, things move fast when you’re the Cheetah. But before you trade your Hill jersey for a No. 9 Smith-Schuster, let’s take a second to catch up with Hill’s impressive KC career.

Tyreek Hill, 2016-2022

In six seasons with Kansas City, the 5th round West Alabama draft pick racked up 67 career touchdowns (56 receiving, six rushing, and five returning). That’s in addition to his 479 catches and 6,630 yards. He made the Pro Bowl all six seasons and is No. 4 for all-time franchise touchdowns + receptions.

Oh, and there’s a reason we called him The Cheetah. NFL Next Gen Stats clocked him in a regular season game at 23.24 mph — the fastest time ever recorded since tracking began in 2016.

What the Chiefs got

Kansas City picked up five draft picks for the trade.

1st round (No. 29 overall), 2022
2nd round (No. 50 overall), 2022
4th round, 2022
4th round, 2023
6th round, 2023

What’s next

Despite the dumpster fire that is Twitter right now, these picks ensure a strong position for the Chiefs among the incoming rookie stars.

Plus, Hill isn't the only big-name player who has the Chiefs saying, "Bye, Felicia.” In our “Origins of Ope” newsletter, we told you KC signed safety Justin Reid to a three-year, $31.5 million contract in place of safety Tyrann Mathieu — aka Honey Badger. Mathieu is still a free agent looking to sign. Fans can expect a new set of young players looking to do big things in the coming years.

Correction note: We originally wrote that Hill entered free agency. That has been corrected to "allowed to seek a trade."
