Thanks to the creation of a new nonprofit organization, Harvard Square will continue to provide performance spaces for local dancers, musicians + other creatives.

Arrow Street Arts, a nonprofit founded by Cambridge arts advocate David Altshuler, announced plans last week to add two new performance venues in the former location of the American Repertory Theater's Oberon. ICYMI, the ART is moving to a new location in Allston.

Plans for the Arrow Street spaces include a black box theater, expected to fit 300 guests, and a smaller studio that will fit ~100 people.

The multi-use art spaces, which will also become the new home of Cambridge-based theater company Moonbox Productions, are expected to open in the second half of this year.
