Whew. Our heads are still spinning over the historic news of Bill Chisholm buying the Celtics for a record $6.1 billion — if it all works out. Our friends at Locked On Celtics have been diving into what this all means and how it marks a new era for Boston basketball.

Meanwhile, we’ve busted out our calculators to crunch the staggering stats and asked ourselves: what could $6.1 billion buy us as Celtics fans? Here’s the score.

Based on today’s average price to attend a Celtics game for a party of four — $419.47 — 14,542,160 groups of four could hit up TD Garden.
While you’re at the game, you could buy 917,293,233 hot dogs, 473,235,066 beers, and pay for that prime Garden parking 101,666,667 times.
But you’ll wanna live a little: You could rent an $8,000 game day suite at TD Garden 762,500 times.
You’ll need new swag: You could buy 50,833,333 Jayson Tatum replica jerseys.
And you’ll need to keep the ballers happy: In July 2024, Tatum’s five-year extension contract cost the team a whopping $314 million — you could renew it 19.4 times. You could also renew Derrick White’s four-year, $126 million extension 48.4 times.

OK, Celtics fans — what would you spend the money on? Let us know.
