Black History Month is in full swing and we have a few suggestions to get involved this month.

First up, catch a flick during the Black History Month Film Series that will feature five inspirational films selected by the Museum of African American History and and Showcase Cinemas. Participating Greater Boston theaters include Dedham's Showcase Cinema de Lux at Legacy Place + the Showcase Cinema de Lux Randolph.

“Harriet” | Wednesday, Feb. 7 | 7 p.m.
“Malcolm X” | Sunday, Feb. 11 | 4 p.m.
“Loving” | Wednesday, Feb. 14 | 7 p.m.
“Selma” | Sunday, Feb. 18 | 4 p.m.
“Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am” | Wednesday, Feb. 21 | 7 p.m.

Then around the City of Boston, city officials announced programming to celebrate this year’s theme: "African Americans and the Arts."

Finally, the Boston Public Library has booked up the rest of the month with free events. Check out the “Black is…” book list with 75 titles commemorating the achievements, complexities, struggles, and culture of the Black experience. Plus, a few author appearances and discussions.
