As fellow remote workers know, sometimes you need a change of scenery to shake up your routine.

We're big fans of working from local coffee shops, so we thought we'd share five of our favorite laptop-friendly spots for when we need to get back to the grind.

☕ Cannonball Cafe

Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3 p.m. + Saturday 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

This South Boston shop offers all the fuel you need for a productive work session, from breakfast sandwiches to Gracenote coffee. Get comfortable at thecommunity table after you grab a locally named smoothie or one of the monthly astrology drinks.

☕ Cafenation

Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3 p.m. + Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Located in Brighton Center, this cozy cafe is decorated with plenty of plants to help you find some zen in your work day. Grab a breakfast sandwich or bagel and follow along on Instagram to keep up with the specialty drink menu.

☕ Ula Cafe

Daily 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

This neighborhood bakery in Jamaica Plain offers spacious patio seating for warmer days + unique local art to enhance your virtual meeting backdrop. Plus, caffeine fiends can sign up for the membership program to save on coffee and tea.

☕ Cafe Iterum

Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-8 p.m. + Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

Come to this East Boston shop for the aesthetics + natural lighting, and stay for the impressive food menu with beet bowls, ube toast, and spicy noodles. This cafe is just steps away from the Maverick T Station for an easy commute back home.

☕ Cafe Beatrice

Monday 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-9 p.m. + Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Head to Cambridge Crossing to focus up at this sleek cafe run by a local pastry chef. When the working day is done, celebrate with dinner next door at Gepetto, or grab a glass of wine right from the cafe.

Of course, there are great options in Back Bay and Downtown Boston too — we love Ogawa Coffee, Trident, and Render Coffee.

Reader recommendations:

Thanks to our caffeinated readers, we've learned about even more local spots where you can fill your cup.

Cafe Landwer | Recommended by Marcy L.| With locations in both Brookline + Back Bay, this Mediterannean-inspired coffee shop is a go-to spot for study sessions and work meetings.
Square Root | Recommended by Bob W.| The Roslindale cafe is a coworking space, live entertainment venue + beer and wine bar all rolled into one.
Vester Cafe | Recommended by Kelley T. | Stop by the cafe in Kendall Square, South Boston, or at The Foundry in Cambridge to sample from the all-day breakfast menu and grab an Instagram-worthy beverage.

We also received suggestions to add Tradesman in Downtown Boston and Charlestown + Bloc Cafe in Somerville's Union Square — our team highly recommends both.

The only thing we love more than a latte from one of these spots? Trying new local businesses. Hit us with your favorite coffee shop — preferably a spot with the right vibes for a work-from-cafe day — and we'll add it to our coffee bucket list.
