With over 2,000 active home listings on the market in Derby City, it can be hard to find the one with that special something that sets it apart from the rest. Luckily, we’ve done some digging and found a few gems that break the mold of a cookie-cutter home and have a personality all their own.

A Spanish-style abode off Bardstown Road

$312,500

Newly updated, this two-bedroom, one-bath house features all the eye-catching elements of a Spanish-style home: barrel roof tiles, smooth stucco, arches and curves + warm earth tones. There’s no shortage of colorful accent tiles either — the porch, patio, fireplace, and bathroom all feature different designs.

Luxury park-side living

$1,075,000

On this 7,405-sqft lot you’ll get not one house, but two. Located across from Cherokee Park, the facade of this contemporary-style property sets it apart from the rest of the Cherokee Road homes. It mixes sharp angles with the smooth curves of three turret rooms, which also have glass ceilings.

The main house has three bedrooms and baths + the kitchen features a giant, floor-to-ceiling window made of 25 smaller windows.

The carriage house, located behind the in-ground pool, has a 450-sqft studio-style apartment with a kitchen and laundry.

1920s barn-style home

$475,000

Situated on two acres of land between Anchorage and Pewee Valley, this 2,890-sqft house has a wrap around porch, original hardwood floors, and exposed beams. However, the DIY magazine page wallpaper in the bathroom is a one-of-a-kind feature. Link just took me back to the listing page, instead of the specific bathroom photo
