UPS is investing $334 million into its local operations — which will create 435 jobs for Kentuckians.

As the largest employer in Louisville with 25,000+ employees, let’s get into the nuts and bolts of the investment and its impact on the commonwealth:

In Derby City, the logistics provider will invest $155 million + create the bulk of the new positions — 315 jobs total.
UPS’ Louisville plans include a new, one million-sqft facility, though the location is currently undetermined.
The remaining $178 million will go toward another new, one million-sqft facility in Bullitt County, which will create 120 jobs — the location of which is also currently undetermined.
With UPS Worldport, its 21 supply chain solution warehouses, and eight million sqft of warehouse space, the company’s economic impact on Kentucky accounts for $2.5 billion in annual payroll + 62,000 direct and indirect jobs.
