Today, Sept. 27, marks two whole years of INDYtoday.

City Editor Nicole still remembers sending the very first newsletter — and boy, has it grown so much since then.

If you've been a reader for awhile now, you probably recognize Nicole. You may have also noticed that we’ve got some new faces at INDYtoday, so you can consider this our official meet-cute.

So, allow us to introduce (or re-introduce) ourselves.

👋 Meet Nicole

Q: If you could only write about one Indy-specific topic for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: This is such a hard choice — because if you've been a reader for awhile now, you know I tend to write a lot of lifestyle and development news. If I had to pick one, it would probably be local business news. I love supporting the local businesses that make our city special + I think it would be fun to continuously meet small business owners and hear about the stories behind them.

Q: Where can we find you?
A: You can usually find me at a local coffee shop, a vendor market, or (shameless self-promo) on Instagram @nicolexindy.

Q: What's your favorite memory with INDYtoday?
A: One of my favorite memories with INDYtoday has been covering The Stutz development. I covered the project when it was announced, went on a hard hat tour when it was still under construction, and then have visited so many time since for BUTTER, the car museum opening, and other vendor openings. It's such a cool experience to completely watch a part of the city transform before your eyes.

👋 Meet Shea

Q: You can only choose one local restaurant menu to bring with you to a deserted island — which one is it + why?
A: BODHI. Between the life-changing pad thai, the delicious drink selection, and the rotating selection of Gallery desserts, I'd be chillin' happily on the beach for quite some time.

Q: You’re taking someone on a date in Indy. Where are you going?
A: It definitely depends on the time of year — but if the weather's lovely, we'd start out with climbing at North Mass Boulder, then hit World Famous Hotboys to see how they handle their spice, and finish off the evening watching the sun set from the rooftop bar in Fountain Square.

Q: What's your favorite thing about living in Indy?
A: There is always, always something to do. I've been to an illusionist show at Old National where a trick almost went horribly wrong, I've lost (and found) my phone floating down the White River, I've climbed every step up Soliders and Sailors Monument in 100 degree heat. I've got my battle scars for sure, but Indy is never boring.

Between the two of us, we get the privilege of sharing the news with thousands of readers in Indy, daily — both through our newsletter + social feeds. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just subscribed today (welcome, btw), we appreciate you + look forward to many more years in your inbox.
