Get ready for a total eclipse of the art. On Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Penrod Arts Fair returns to Newfields for its 56th year of celebrating the best in art, music, food, dance, and live performance.

Let's paint a picture of what you can expect from this year's festivities.

Art

Penrod's main attraction is in the incredible assembly of 300+ artists from all over the nation, selling everything from jewelry to woodworking pieces to oil paintings. Browse the list of artists who will be showcasing their work.

Food and drink

More than 25 local restaurants including Bazbeaux, La Chinita Poblana, and Hoosier Tropical Sno will keep you energized while you shop. When it's time to wine down, hit up one of many beer stations, the Gallo Wine Terrace, or the Maker's Mark Experience for a frosty sip.

Entertainment

Feast your eyes (and ears) on the 32 local acts taking over Penrod's six stages. Whether you're interested in ballet, jazz music, magicians, choirs, or indie singer/songwriters, you'll find plenty of performances to fill your day. Check out the lineup.

How to get there

Parking will not be available at the State Fairgrounds this year, but there are plenty of other ways to get to Newfields. Early birds who don't mind spending the cash can snag a spot in the museum's lot for $40. The lot will also offer free parking on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles with state-issued disability placards or license plates. Free parking with shuttle service will be available at the Lafayette Square Mall, and a free bike corral will be available near the museum's entrance. Here's a map of all options.
