We're raising the woof because Monday, Aug. 26 is National Dog Day. Here at INDYtoday we love our furry friends and our city so much that City Editor Nicole named her dog Indy.

On a day dedicated to our precious pups, it only feels right to treat them to the best day in the Circle City.

Indy may not have landed on Forbes' list of best cities in the US for dogs, but we beg to differ. There are still lots of places around the city that will welcome your furry friend with open paws.

We want your help deciding where we should take Indy to celebrate National Dog Day around town using some spots we've narrowed down from our dog-friendly guide.

The best way to start the day is with coffee — or in this case, a pup cup. Where should Indy + Nicole get coffee?

Mansion Society
Blue Mind Roasting
The Selene
Red Door Cafe

A dog's best day isn't complete without a walkie did you mean to say walk or walkie? if that's intentional it's fine lol just checkingand some fresh air. Which park should Indy + Nicole go for a walk in?

White River State Park
Garfield Park
Eagle Creek Park
Riverside Regional Park

One of Nicole's favorite pastimes is shopping and getting a little treat, so naturally it's Indy's favorite thing to do too. Which dog-friendly store or business should Indy + Nicole visit?

Three Dogs Bakery
City Dogs Grocery
Woof Gang
Digs

Of course, we have to end the day with a dinner date. Where should Indy + Nicole grab a bite?

Half Liter
Fire by the Monon

Is there something else you’d like to see Indy + Nicole do on their perfect day? Drop your suggestions at the end of the poll.
