It’s graduation season, and you know what that means — a lot of caps and gowns floating around town for photo ops.

If you haven’t taken graduation photos yet (we get it, we’d rather you procrastinate on this than studying for finals), we’ve rounded up some of the best spots around the city to take photos — no matter where you’re graduating from.

🌳 For the nature lovers

Even if you’re not a Bulldog, Holcomb Gardens on Butler University’s campus is a great place for photos with lots of greenery, a manmade lake, a small waterfall, and gazebo.

If tropical is more your vibe, Garfield Park Conservatory is a great place to surround yourself with plant life — plus it’s indoors, so you don’t have to worry about Indiana weather raining on your parade. Pro tip: To shoot photography in the conservatory, you must book two weeks in advance + submit a photo permit inquiry and fee.

🏙️ For a good view of the city

Highland Park is our top pick for a skyline background. If you’re an IUPUI student or don’t mind paying a parking garage fee, the Gateway Garage on IUPUI’s campus has another prime view of the skyline. The Canal Walk outside the Indiana State Museum facing east is another great spot with a skyline backdrop.

📸 For a classic spot

If you love Indy, these spots are a given. Monument Circle needs no explanation. There’s also White River State Park, where you can get a little bit of everything: greenery, the Canal, art sculptures, and the city skyline. The exterior of the War Memorial is another spot with beautiful classical architecture.
