Welcome back, Pacers Nation. With 4 rookies + Rick Carlisle in his second year of coaching, there’s a lot to catch up on — so we’re giving you a jump shot on what to expect.

The Pacers get the ball rolling at their first home game this Sat., Oct. 23 against the Miami Heat.

Heads up, the venue might look a little different. Newly renamed Gainbridge Fieldhouse is currently undergoing $360 million renovations, including a new state of the art scoreboard, fresh restrooms + nursing rooms.

A 70,000 sqft plaza for year-round events is currently being built + is expected to open around Thanksgiving of next year. Hint, grab your mittens because there's an ice-skating rink in the works.

With that, comes some navigation around the construction. There will be lane closures on both Pennsylvania + Delaware streets directly adjacent to the fieldhouse. Your best bet? Get dropped off on Pennsylvania St. at the plaza.

Gainbridge is also setting the pace with brand-new concession options. Menus from minority-owned restaurants + Grab ‘n Go cashless convenience markets are two highlights. Near Sections 17, The Kitchen will host rotating minority chefs who will cook for 3 consecutive games, with 10% of the proceeds going toward community organizations.

Premium food options previously available only in private areas will now be available around the main concourse, including Three Point Taqueria, which will make fresh tortillas daily. Don’t worry, if you’re into the classics, the standard stadium options like popcorn + hot dogs will still be available.

Gainbridge Fieldhouse is following all city guidelines regarding COVID-19, so make sure you have your mobile ticket ready for a contactless experience.

Now that you have the inside hoop, don’t sweat it. Although, based on a recent poll, we know you won’t. Did you know Pacers fans are among the least-stressed fans in the NBA?
