If you’ve driven around Indy or walked around downtown, you’ve likely spotted these artistic billboards + murals. Now, you have the opportunity to vote for your favorites — and even influence what might happen to some of the pieces.

🖼️ High Art Billboard Project

This time of year, the highways can look pretty gray but this art project is adding some color back to your commute. The Arts Council of Indianapolis + Reagan Outdoor Advertising have partnered up for a city-wide project that features 10 works of art by local artists on billboards across central Indiana on a rotating basis.

You can vote for a “People’s Choice” winner through Sun., Feb. 13 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced on Mon., Feb. 14 and receive $500.

This is the ninth year for the High Art program + drivers will be able to catch a glimpse throughout the year.

🖌️ Super Bowl XLVI murals

Did you know that some of the most iconic artworks around downtown (like “My Affair with Kurt Vonnegut” + “Indiana Avenue Jazz Masters” by Pamela Bliss) were created in honor of the Super Bowl coming to town? In 2012, 34 artists created 46 murals to celebrate Indy hosting Super Bowl XLVI — and the project helped revitalize the city’s public art landscape.

Now, the Indy Arts Council wants to know which ones you love the best by having you vote for your top three artworks.

Your input could help decide the fate of these murals. As part of the 10-year anniversary of these pieces, there will be an assessment involving artists, property owners, and the public that will help Indy Arts Council determine what's next for the murals.
