The history of Polk Pride

Polk Pride was started in 2015 to raise awareness and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community through annual and monthly events. Its partners include the Lakeland Youth Alliance, a nonprofit that provides support for LGBTQ+ youth, and the national Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays organization.

We love a party, but Pride is also a prime time to give back. Donations to the Youth Alliance help providesupport to LGBTQ+ youth in our community. Pro tip: Making a donation through the Lakeland Youth Alliance will also benefit Polk Pride.
