ICYMI, Lakeland’s food + entertainment scene is getting a whole new upgrade.

The team behind Cob & Pen – one of Lakeland’s premier venues for food ingenuity, craft favorites + camaraderie – are bringing two new concepts to Swan City: An arcade bar combo called The Rec Room + a fast-casual restaurant called Good Thyme.

Here’s what you need to know:

The Rec Room

The arcade-bar will be located on the corner of Munn Park + downtown at 202 N. Massachusetts Ave. (in the building that used to house Firestone + LkldTV.)
The Rec Room will occupy 4,000 sq. ft. of the space.
There will be a full bar with domestic + craft beer, and wines.
They will be open to all ages before 9 p.m., and then only over 21 after 9 p.m.
The type of activities you can expect include: Galaga, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Walking Dead, Skee-Ball, Air Hockey, PlayStation, and Nintendo
There will be no cover charge, but games are pay-to-play.
No opening date has been released yet, but we’ll keep you up-to-date.

P.S. According to reports, The Rec Room still needs a conditional-use permit from the city, but officials are confident they will receive one.

Good Thyme

Good Thyme will be located in the old D’Lucas building at 1037 Dixieland Mall Lane, near Concord Coffee.
The concept is built around online food ordering + pick-up.
The menu will include items such as biscuit sandwiches, fried cauliflower rice, and poke bowls.
Additional plans include pop-up dinner nights + oyster happy hours.
The restaurant is expected to open fall 2019.
