Having fun isn't hard when you’ve got a library card. Luckily, Lakeland has not one, but threepublic library locations where you can take advantage of all the benefits libraries have to offer.

Any Polk County resident can get a free library card. Just stop into one of these locations with your photo ID + proof of residency:

Once you have your card, you’ll be ready to start using the library’s many offerings. Not only can you borrow your favorite books, but you can also download ebooks, audiobooks, music, and movies — free of charge.

Speaking of genealogy, history buffs will love the Lakeland History & Culture Center, an exhibit + research center in library’s main location. Meet with librarian LuAnn Mims to learn more about digitizing your family archive or researching your family genealogy.

The perks go beyond the library’s four walls. Cardholders can check out a Real Florida Reader State Park Pass during select weeks of the year for free access to 175 of Florida’s State Parks. You can also use your card to access any Polk County public library location.
