888, Nashville’s only sushi restaurant-meets-vinyl record listening lounge, is pulling back the curtain on how the sushi roll is made for one afternoon only.

The Art of Sushi, a class and tasting led by Master Chef Kiichi Okabe, is coming to 888 on Saturday, Feb. 21, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The class has limited availability, so reserve a seat to:

  • Assist in preparing a five-course lunch, including two hand-rolled sushi creations
  • Learn fundamentals from perfectly-seasoned rice to the balance of maki
  • Experience the meticulous art of sushi making under expert guidance
  • Taste your freshly made dishes

Master Chef Kiichi Okabe has decades of experience in Japanese cuisine, and has led acclaimed sushi programs worldwide.

If you miss the class, don’t worry: 888 is open for sushi, cocktails, and tunes every Sunday-Wednesday, 5-11 p.m., Thursday 5 p.m.-12 a.m., and Friday-Saturday 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Plus, drop in for happy hour at the bar Sunday-Thursday, 4-6 p.m.
