Happy Hollow Park & Zoo recently welcomed two one-year-old capybara sisters who were born last October at the Abeline Zoo in Texas.

Though capybaras are not an endangered species, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recommended that they be moved as part of the Capybara Species Survival Plan — which moves species to other zoos in order to support its genetic health.

Quick capybara facts:

They are the largest living rodents in the world.
They're relatives of the guinea pig, and can weigh up to 150 lbs.
They can live up to 8-10 years in the wild, 12 in captivity.

Visit the sisters from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Weds.-Fri. + 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends. (Pssst... you can get $5 off your admission ticket if you come in a costume from now until Sun., Oct. 30.)
