Riviera Del Sol Neighborhood Park

This 4.9-acre park will provide the Otay Mesa community with lawn areas and picnic space, playground and fitness equipment, and basketball courts. Substantial construction is expected to be done by mid-2024, with its anticipated completion by early 2025.

Chollas Triangle Park

In the 2024 fiscal year budget, city officials proposed $2.3 million to develop a 10-acre area of land near the Oak Park, City Heights, Redwood Village, and El Cerrito communities. The development is expected to include walking paths, community gathering space, and playgrounds, but the project's timeline is still in the works.

Olive Street Park

Bankers Hill will get a 0.6-acre mini park with an observation deck overlooking Maple Canyon and the city's first tribute to the 8,000+ San Diegans who have died from AIDS. Construction is ongoing and expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Dog Parks

Many active San Diegans have four legs, and these upcoming dog parks are in different stages of development across communities:

University Heights is expected to debut its dog park at an open space near Park and El Cajon boulevards later this summer

Paradise Hills
Gompers Park in Chollas View
Allied Gardens Off-Leash Dog Park

Plus, there will be more offerings in the downtown area. Waterfront Park is currently undergoing construction to extend its amenities, and a community-focused renovation is in the works at Gallagher Square in Petco Park.
