Extra shampoo bottles collecting dust in your cabinets? Now until Friday, Dec. 22, Sacramento City Unified School District is collecting hygiene product donations for unhoused families in Sacramento.

This donation drive follows a coat drive in November, which supplied hundreds of winter jackets to keep students warm in the area. So, what can you donate for this drive during December?

Here are some of the accepted items:

Shampoo
Conditioner
Soap
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Deodorant
Socks
Hairbrushes
Diapers
Wipes

Before donating, make sure the items still have that safety seal and remain unopened. Then, drop them off in the blue bin in the main lobby of Serna Center (5735 47th Ave.).

Curious about what else can be donated to Sacramento City Unified schools? Call the Purchasing Department at 916-643-9461 about any supplies or equipment you have on hand to see if it may be of use.
